3rd Annual Munchkin Kids Run
Thanks to everyone who made the 3rd Annual Munchkin Kids Run presented by the Wipro San Francisco Marathon a huge success!
More than 400 Munchkins ran their little hearts out and had a blast while doing so. There were clowns and dogs and music and great food. There were also great kids activities and every participant received a finishers medal. We're so proud of our little Munchkins!
Our generous sponsors raised more than $13,000 for the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center, which will enable us to continue to reach families in San Francisco who need our help the most. Thank you!

2nd Annual San Francisco Marathon Munchkin Kids Run
14th Annual Blue Ribbon Luncheon
A huge thanks to everyone who supported the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center’s 14th Annual Blue Ribbon Luncheon on April 7, 2011, at the Fairmont San Francisco. Approximately 450 guests attended and helped us raise more than $315,000 to support the Center’s many critical programs that protect children and help families.
Guests were treated to an engaging presentation by Dr. Harvey Karp, author of The Happiest Baby on the Block. Known for his coveted techniques that help parents and care takers successfully calm and support crying infants and toddlers, Karp showcased his fierce passion and expert knowledge about the well-being of children. In addition, Dr. Moses Grossman was honored for founding the Center and his influential role in improving the lives of children and families as well as inspiring generations of people to take action against child abuse. We thank Senator Dianne Feinstein and Sandra Hernández, MD, CEO of The San Francisco Foundation, as well as our own Board Members and staff for honoring Dr. Grossman in a moving tribute video. Luncheon Chairs were Darrach Bourke and Heather Rodriguez, members of our Board of Directors. Cheryl Jennings of ABC7/KGO TV, a long-time member of our Advisory Committee and strong supporter of the Center, was the Emcee. Richard Pio Roda, a member of the Center’s Board of Directors, and Darrach Bourke served as the auctioneers for our live Fund a Need which raised more than $65,000. Huge thanks to our Silent Auction chairs Isabelle Lemon (Auxiliary Chair and Board Member), Anne Symon (Board Member), and Darrach Bourke for pulling off a very successful silent auction. We are also grateful to Auxiliary Member, Carla Crane, and her friend Karen, for working with the children in our Playroom and pulling together a beautiful children’s art auction.

Second Annual Winter Wonderland Tea
Thanks to everyone who helped make the Second Annual Winter Wonderland Tea a memorable event! More than 100 parents and children enjoyed a festive afternoon on the 32nd floor of the Westin St. Francis, complete with face painting by our friends at Skyana, arts and crafts, delicious treats, and a gingerbread house raffle. Our deepest gratitude to our event chairs, Hilary King and Cynthia Foster, and the rest of the Auxiliary for making this event possible. Happy holidays!

13th Annual Blue Ribbon Luncheon
Thanks to more than 450 who attended or sponsored the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center 13th Annual Blue Ribbon Luncheon April 30, 2010, at the Westin St. Francis Hotel, more than $250,000 was raised to support the Center’s many critical programs.
Luncheon Co-Chairs were Robert Callan, Jr., and Heather Rodriguez, members of the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center (SFCAPC)‘s Board of Directors. Riki Ellison, former San Francisco 49er and three-time Super Bowl champion, was the keynote speaker and chronicled his own struggles as a child and the impact positive adult role models can make in the life of a child.
Cheryl Jennings of ABC7/KGO TV, a long-time Member of our Advisory Committee and strong supporter of the Center, was the Master of Ceremonies.
The Luncheon program also featured Executive Director Katie Albright who spoke of the urgent need for the Center in our community. Heather Rodriguez shared a personal parenting story of her son’s diagnosis with PTSD and her own struggles as a parent during this time.
The Center thanks all you who attended our annual Luncheon. Your generous support helped us raise the funds needed to continue our vital work in the community.
